In June, ASTM issued Method D7718 – 11 entitled “Standard Practice for Obtaining In-Service Samples of Lubricating Grease.” In it, a method is outlined for obtaining trendable samples from motor-operated valves, gearboxes and more. ExxonMobil’s new Mobil SHC Gear Series is a line of high-performance, fully-synthetic industrial gear oils formulated to help general manufacturing and processing industries increase productivity and reduce costs by lowering energy consumption and extending oil drain intervals.
